On 30th July, the US government made the unexpected announcement that the ‘de minimis’ threshold which allows low value (<$800) parcels to be imported without being subject to import taxes is to be suspended worldwide from 29th August.
In addition, there will be a specific import duty for every parcel of $80 for the first six months.
This means that you’d need to pay $80 on top of any other ‘country of origin’ import taxes if you were to order from us after the threshold is suspended, which is unaffordable.
We are therefore suspending shipping to the USA from 20th August to ensure that parcels have passed through customs before 29th August.
So if you were intending to order this year, please do so before 20th August. Made to order items (the majority of our gifts, and prints and posters) will need to be ordered by 15th August.
We are of course saddened by the US government’s decision, and hope that our US customers will be able to order from us again in six months’ time.
